Nichole De Carle is a lingerie designer who is famous for her bondage style underwear and her credentials of working under Alexander McQueen and Donna Karen. The designs of Nichole De Carle have graced publications from FHM to Vogue which demonstrates the wide appeal of her particular kinky style. The lingerie doesn’t come cheap but that is because Nichole De Carle is focused on quality, it is not simply a case of quirky designs it has to be and feel luxurious.
Nichole De Carle is a highly critically acclaimed lingerie designer that has captured the eye of many people across the world. She studied at DeMontfort University on their contour course which taught her the basics of her craft; it is one of the few courses that teaches the art of lingerie and corsetry. From there she went to work for Alexander McQueen the eccentric brilliant English designer, Donna Karen the classic chic designer and Pleasure State the well known lingerie and corset designer. With this wealth of knowledge and experience she decided to start her own label in 2007 designing and making high quality bespoke lingerie. Her key word is femininity, dressing a woman’s body and showing off the soft curves and shape of the female form. Even though the brand now makes off the peg lingerie they have not lost any of their integrity or dignity, they are still making their lingerie to the same standard it is just more widely available.
Her inspirations come from a wide range of sources outside the world of lingerie which is why she is completely unique in her approach and design. The brand takes a significant amount of inspiration from architecture, not necessarily where you would expect a lingerie brand to glean so much inspiration from. It is the curves and high grandeur that they are incorporating into their designs with feminine structuring and colours. The Westminster collection draws its inspiration from the lines and vaulted ceilings of the abbey resulting in a truly unique collection. Architecture is not her only unusual source of inspiration ranges like the Onyx collection has been inspired by Dan Brown and his books, the designers like the mystery and intrigue behind the book and the ideas of religious symbolism. The notion of hidden symbols is reflected in all of the straps and pieces involved in the items in this collection.
They made an exclusive bridal range in conjunction with legendary corsetieres to the Queen Rigby and Peller and it is inspired by the magical aspect of love and marriage. It has a distinctive ethereal feel to it, reflected particularly in the hipster pants which have a frilled side of pink and white fabric. The bra has crossover straps at the back reflecting the bondage style of many of her classic collections. This beautiful underwear would make a great asset to any women’s lingerie collection and not only would you be getting a great item you can feel good in the knowledge that it has been ethically created. Nichole De Carle is committed to sourcing fabrics being made ethically and transported as greenly as possible. So you can indulge without having to worry about global exploitation or environmental issues, what’s not to love.
