Ridgeback Bikes - With people becoming more and more interested in the environment and the state of the planet more and more people are choosing to commute bikes are taking centre stage again much to the delight of the bike makers and the earth. Which companies have caught onto the trend and got a range of great everyday commuter bikes? Well most of them it seems but they don’t come cheap so you will have to put your hand in your pocket to start with and reap the rewards later. Ridgeback bikes might be the place to start to look. Ridgeback bikes could be right for commuters.
Giant a Bike for all Commuters
Giant are most well known for their mountain bikes but they do make some great commuter bikes including a folding bike. The commuter bikes are lightweight and are perfect for getting to work or nipping across town on. They have a sturdy frame but they don’t have the suspension that you would find on a mountain bike because they are designed for road use rather than to go off through the countryside. Folding bikes are great for the commuter that has nowhere to store the bike at work it can be simply folded up and put under the desk.
The Bikers Choice, Marin
Marin have a small selection of street bikes that would make your commute a nice experience, the lightweight and stylish frames will mean that you look just as good on your bike as you feel. They are expensive bikes but will be worth the investment if you are going to be commuting every day. They are fairly large bikes so you would need to know that you could store it away when you got to work otherwise it would pose a problem.
Mondraker For all Mountain Bike Enthusiasts
Mondraker don’t make bikes specifically for commuting but they do have a range of mountain bikes that could be used as commuter bikes as well. They will be a lot heavier than the bikes that are designed for road use and this could make cycling to work harder and would definitely not be ideal if your commute involved having to get a train at any point. So this is a company that is probably best suited to mountain biking at the weekend and on holiday.
Kona Kuala an Electric Dream
Kona Don’t have a specific commuter range but their Simplicity collection has some great bikes that would make a big difference to the daily grind. They have a selection of electric bikes that would be ideal if you were going to be travelling a long way because they give you an extra boost of power taking some of the strain out of the cycle. They have a couple of bikes that have delivery bags attached to them so you can easily carry all of your belongings with you without having to worry about balancing them on the back of the bike or wearing a heavy rucksack.
With so many options available to cyclists there is no reason why more people shouldn’t be out on the roads cycling to work and helping to save the environment.
